Wedding Photos

I am SO excited to share just a few of the photos from Rita and Alex's wedding!  They used Lane Weddings and he did an amazing job.  He was fun, easy going and took wonderful pictures.  I love looking back on their big day!

The beautiful bride!

This was a handkerchief of Grandma Ellen's Rita carried on her flower bouquet.  So special!

Dehner Wedding Day

Finally the morning of June 29th arrived and it was time to take Rita to the church to get married!  There is a story about the amazing happenings on this wedding day morning at the Henning house but I am going to save that story for a later post.  :)  Be looking for that soon!

All of the girls went over to Chelsey and Rita's house to get ready together.  We had Starbucks, breakfast, hair stylists and make up everywhere.  It was such a fun time to be together!  Here are a few pictures from the morning.

Then it was off to the church!  The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and there wasn't a dry eye in the whole church.  I am so excited to add Alex to our family.  I see how much he loves Rita and it makes me so happy.  I could not be happier that she found the love of her life and that we got to celebrate them together.  It will be a day I will never forget.

The only hard thing about being in a wedding is that it is impossible to take tons of pictures.  I have a collection of pictures from the day and night below.  As soon as she gets her professional pictures I will be buying a bunch and sharing them here!  Her dress was so amazing!

I want to thank all the family and friends that came to the wedding.  It meant so much to our family to have you all there to celebrate Rita and Alex!

Rehearsal Time

After a morning of fun at Rita's bridal brunch and an afternoon of running errands it was finally time for the wedding rehearsal.  It was so surreal to watch my baby sister rehearse her wedding day!  The rehearsal at the church went great.  It only got us all more excited for the next day.

Signing the marriage license.  It's official!

After rehearsal at the church we all headed out to Alex's Aunt and Uncle's home for rehearsal dinner.  It was a beautiful night and the dinner was so special.  It was so wonderful to spend time with friends and family and celebrate Rita and Alex getting married!

Rita gave all the bridesmaids personalized tote bags, wedding day clutches and earring.

Rita gave me a beautiful belt to wear with my dress for the day of the wedding.  It is so special!

Grandpa Harold came all the way from Hawaii for the wedding.  Here he is with his three boys.  So special!

It was a great night and it got us all so excited for the big day ahead!

Rita's Bridal Brunch

After our Thursday night BBQ the wedding celebration continued with a bridal brunch for Rita.  All of the ladies in town for the wedding got together for brunch at the hotel.  This brunch is an Evenson lady tradition.  I had one the Friday morning of my wedding and I still treasure the memories.

We all got to spend time together talking, laughing and celebrating Rita.  Each person came with an advice tag for Rita on marriage.  I collected them all and then each person got to pick out someone else's advice and read it to Rita.  It was a time of lots of tears and laugher.

At the end of the shower we surprised Rita with the Kitchen Aid mixer she had on her registry.  Hopefully each time she bakes she will think of all the wonderful advice she got for the ladies that love her most.  It was such a special morning!

Family BBQ

This summer has been like no other!  We have been so busy with a wedding, vacations and fun in the sun.  It has been a summer to go down in the books for so many reasons!  Things are finally settling down and I need to quickly get my blog up to date!

The main event of our summer was Rita and Alex’s wedding!   They got married on June 29th and everything was absolutely perfect.  Rita and I got to spend so much time together planning and preparing for their special day.  I will always treasure the time we got to spend together.  Especially now that she is living in another state (more on that later).

The first event of the wedding weekend was our family BBQ.  On the Thursday before the wedding Drew and I invited all of the families in town to come over to our place for a casual BBQ.  I woke up early and put a 17lb pork butt on the traeger and we completed the meal with all the normal BBQ fixings.  Thankfully my parents were in town and were such a HUGE help in getting ready for the event!
We had 26 people in town so we opened up the garage door and put picnic tables in the driveway for extra seating.  It was of course hot but for the end of June we got a very nice day.  It was such a special time for everyone to spend quality time together.  It meant so much to our whole family to have everyone come to town.  It was also the first time all four Evenson girls were in one place!  Finally!!
The happy couple just a few days before they tied the knot!

Together again!

The night was filled with lots of laughter and celebration for the happy couple!  It was a great way to kick off the wedding weekend.
