This month we officially started giving Ellen solid food. I was dragging my feet because I know it is one small step towards the end of our nursing days. I know I still have 6 months left but this Momma loves it so much I had a hard time starting solids. However, Ellen was SO ready that it helped. She loves rice cereal and has a strong dislike for peas, green beans and squash. After many attempts she has just decided that she can tolerate bananas. I'm sure she will become more adventurous as time goes on. We are taking it very slow and having fun! Here are Ellen's first bites.
Ellen has been obsessed with pulling herself up lately. For now it is low objects like stairs. Her favorite past time is climbing over a couch cushion on the floor. Hey it is cheap entertainment!
Ellen seems to continue to find her voice. There is no mistaking if Ellen is awake. Her screams and shrills of excitement can't go unnoticed. She wants everyone to know she is awake and ready to play.
Here are a few other things Ellen has been up to this month.....
Uncle Alex and Aunt Rita came by on their trip to Burlington. We got to have two nights with them and it always makes our day to have them in town.
Ellen also got to meet Uncle Sam for the first time. We got to spend time with Sam and Eli. Ellen loved watching Eli's every move. She loves them!
This month Ellen and I started MOPS. Two Fridays a month we spend the morning at our church. I get some precious adult time with other amazing Moms and Ellen goes to nursery and plays. It has been such a blessing!
I have been transitioning from rowing to upright exercise lately and Ellen has been a good sport each morning. She looks so cute bundled up!
Over the weekend we took Ellen to a local apple orchard. The weather was perfect and she enjoyed looking around at everything. It was a fun fall day.
It has been another great month here at our home. We feel so blessed!
