POTS Program Month 3

Last week I finished up month 3 of my POTS program!  I can’t believe how fast the time has gone.  It seems like yesterday I was looking at month 1 thinking there was no way I was going to be able to do this program!

Month 3 was a very important milestone for me.  At the beginning of the program my husband and I decided that we would give the program three months before we would assess whether it was working for me.

I am happy to report that after three months it is working!  My POTS symptoms are better under control and I am on NO medication!  In month 3 I even got to incorporate upright exercise.  It was a little transition but I am loving being able to be on the treadmill again.
All in all I thought I could sum up month 3 with my positive results and by looking forward.
Positives Results:
·         My resting heart rate has improved from the 95bpm in month 1 to 72bpm in month 3.

·         Now that I am chronically trained I have been able back off eating so much salt.  :)

·         On more days than not I am in control of my POTS symptoms.

Looking Forward:
·         I still have some tachycardia symptoms.  It doesn’t bother me as much since I am in such good shape but my heart rate is still running high.  I am hoping my tachycardia symptoms will improve in months 4, 5 & 6.

·         In month 4 I will begin to incorporate interval training.  This interval heart rate zone will be my highest yet.  I am looking forward to challenging my heart.

·         I have been weight training on seated machines for months 1,2 & 3.  In month 4 I will be incorporating more free weights into my routine.
Overall, month 3 went really well!  I am already one week into month 4 which feels amazing!
